An attack victim was left scarred for life after being driven to a remote field and smashed with a golf club over an unpaid debt
. Caleb Leach was left with a dent in his leg after Andrew Walls hit him with the club during a sustained Valentine's Day assault at the side of a country road in Angus.
The attack took place between Arbirlot and Milton of Carmyllie. Fiscal depute Lora Apostolova told Dundee Sheriff Court : "The complainer had reason to get into a BMW driven by the accused as he owed him money. "He was punched to the head and that caused him to fall to the ground. He felt the accused kicking the side of his head. He was on the ground and aware of the accused going to his car and returning with a golf club which he used to strike him on the ankle."
Top news stories today Lora Apostolova added: "He sustained a dent to his shin, and had a metal plate put in his jaw which meant eating was difficult and painful for the next three months. If it erodes it will need to be surgically replaced."
