Daniel Rooney became an overnight sensation when Ross King plucked him from a hotel bar to open Take That's show in Glasgow's OVO Hydro.

A Scottish singer is preparing to launch his debut single this Friday, after he shot to fame across the globe when he was picked up from a hotel bar to open Take That 's Glasgow show.

As he looks ahead towards his future career in music, the young Scottish star is delighted to share with fans his new debut single Old Ways on Friday. He hopes bar gigs will be a thing of the past soon, given his incredible talent being recognised on the big stage. Looking forward to what's to come, he continued: “We’re trying to move forward from being the guy who was just supporting Take That. I want people to hear my music and know that I’m not just a pub singer." His single is described as 'a hugely anthemic radio-friendly banger with nods to Mark Ronson, Paolo Nutini and many more'.
