The site is a modern reconstruction of a fortified village from the early Middle Ages in Scotland, representing the residence of a Scottish Clan Chief
Outlander's most recent episode featured various explosive scenes at a historic American stronghold. And despite Fort Ticonderoga being a real US landmark, the filming for the show took place in a unique Scottish village, reports the Scottish Daily Express.
But the scenes were shot much closer to home, with the production set up at Duncarron Medieval Village in Carron Valley, Stirlingshire, around 45 minutes' drive from Glasgow. The medieval village is also a tourist attraction and fans of the Starz show will be able to visit and look at where Claire and Jamie Fraser, played by Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan, fought during the current series.
