Cops and the local mountain rescue team were scrambled to Brattle Burn Bothy in Dumfriesshire
A hillwalker had to be stretchered from a mountainside and rushed to hospital after falling in the Southern Uplands.Moffat Mountain Rescue Team were also called to assist, with many members able to respond quickly as they were already in the area for training.
The woman's injuries were assessed and pain relief was administered, while a splint was attached to her lower leg. She was then placed in a CasBag and stretcher, before being carried by the 13-strong team to their rescue vehicle. The causality was then taken by road to a waiting ambulance crew and transported to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary Hospital for treatment. The extent of her injuries are not known.
