Barrie Malcolm, 56, reached 26st 7lbs after gorging in huge portions of food and constantly snacking at night in front of the TV.
A Scots dad who ballooned on a diet of biscuits and crisps has lost a whopping 10 stone in a year after noticing he was becoming breathless while playing with his grandchildren.
Barrie told the Record: "I was just far too heavy. Things got out of hand. It got to the point that I was sweating and breathless even when I was just going to the toilet. He was put on a strict calorie count daily diet, eating porridge in the morning then two dieting bars in the afternoon before a meal at night.
"Everything is easier and more comfortable now. Even just things like getting in and out of the car. I go a walk for an hour every night which is also great for my mental health - and now when I'm playing with the grandkids it is night and day. My eldest grandson Findlay is into football so I'm now able to play with him which is just brilliant."
