The route is busier than before the pandemic

Services between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh via Falkirk High will be increased to a 15-minute frequency on Saturdays as part of the latest ScotRail timetable change.It comes after more customers are using the service outwith peak times than since before the pandemic, with Saturday being the busiest day on the route.Rail bosses have monitored changes in customer demand and improved services in Clydesdale, Lanarkshire, and West Lothian.

A small number of additional daytime services will operate on the Cathcart Circle in the city's Southside, and subject to sufficient drivers completing their training, this will be increased to an hourly service from December. “The way people travel has dramatically changed in the past two years, and we are doing everything we can to provide the best possible service.
