Scotland is under a new Met Office weather warning for thunderstorms
Scots in the north should brace for wet weather and thunderstorms, as the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning.
Up to 40mm of "heavy" rain is expected to fall within a three hour period, with some areas seeing 30mm fall in a single hour. As well as thunder and showers, lightning and hail is also expected. While the majority of the country is to stay dry, eastern Scotland will be subject to showers this afternoon. Monday's forecast reports outbreaks of rain and possible thunder will move across England, before clearing eastern Scotland.
A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms is in place for the Highland region in Scotland. The alert is in place for Tuesday, June 20, from 10:30 am until 8pm this evening.
