Tartan Army preapres for crunch game against Switzerlad
An estimated 60,000 Scotland fans have descended on Cologne ahead of Scotland’s second match of the Euros against Switzerland.
Similar scenes have been witnessed in Germany’s industrial heartland where one Scot set up a Buckfast shop in Cologne’s Alt Markt, selling a steady stream of the popular drink to fans. Ahead of the match, local authorities were forced to close Cologne’s biggest square due to overcrowding as a result of the mass of Scots who have arrived in the city although it was later reopened.
While on Tuesday, however, a host of pre-match events were cancelled due to the torrential weather in Cologne.The City of Cologne’s official press service said: “Due to an official storm warning from late morning with expected heavy rain, hail and heavy gusts of wind, all events and activities in the host city Cologne associated with the European“The Venues Fan Zone at Heumarkt, public viewing at Tanzbrunnen and theExperience will remain closed for the entire day.
