The Man United icon has gone out of his way to advise Onana on how to deal with his mistakes.
The goalkeeper made another error in the 2-1 win over Brentford, failing to get a strong hand to Mathias Jensen’s opener for the visitors on 26 minutes as Manchester United went into the break behind.
Schmeichel took it upon himself to speak to Onana after the 1-0 Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace and then again following the Galatasaray loss to help him deal with his errors. “I’m trying to speak to him about what it’s like being at Manchester United and why whatever you’ve made, you have to put it in a box and put it to the side. If you make a mistake in the game, it might be a mistake we can see, it might be a mistake that we don’t see.
