The twenty-eight-year-old actor also starred as Jason Scott, the Red Ranger, in that same year's Power Rangers movie adaptation.
Per Entertainment Weekly, a single mom is claiming that her life was turned upside down after she was catfished by a scammer who claimed to be Montgomery. The single mom, who is named as McKala of Kentucky, revealed that she left her husband for the Stranger Things impostor who posed as Montgomery. She met the scammer online, a part of an online for creatives, and even sent the swindler $10,000.
The Dacre Montgomery Catfished Situation In Detail McKala says that the con artist, posing as Montgomery, told her that he was on the verge of breaking up with his controlling girlfriend and that Pollock's behavior bothered him. McKala, in an unhappy marriage, responded she empathized because "my ex-husband was the same way." The fake Montgomery said that Pollock controlled all of his bank accounts, leading McKala to fund the scammer's life for over a year.
McKala said she was convinced that the scammer really was Montgomery after she was told by him to tune in for the Stranger Things season 4 episode, "Dear Billy", which saw Montgomery reprise the role of Hargrove. McKala was told this the night before the new season debuted, and she believed no one else could have had that information.
