SCA grants Magudumana leave to appeal High Court ruling on her detention, extradition from Tanzania
The Supreme Court of Appeal has granted Dr Nandipha Magudumana leave to appeal an order by the Free State High Court in Bloemfontein dismissing her application to declare her arrest and extradition from Tanzania unlawful.
In June, the High Court ruled that Magudumana, who accused the police of abducting her, consented to return to South Africa. Magudumana was arrested alongside her alleged lover, Thabo Bester on charges relating to aiding Bester's escape from the Mangaung Correctional Centre in Bloemfontein.
