Old age grant beneficiaries will see their money go a LITTLE further as of this month as SASSA makes a small increase.
The South African Social Security Agency is expected to begin grant payments on Tuesday, and the elderly grant recipients can expect to receive a little extra this month.As of Sunday 1 October the old age grant will increase by R10, which will see pensioners under 75 years receive R2090, and those above 75 year receiving R2110.The nominal increase will apply to all grants except for the child support top up grant which will at R250.
In April their was a R90 increase on the old age grant, meaning this year, recipients have received an increase of R100 on their grant.SASSA implements the following criteria to screen those wishing to apply for the old age grant.You are 60 years or older.You are not receiving payments from another social grant.You don’t earn more than R86 280 if you are single, or R 172 560 if married.
