So let’s see how the various SASSA grants have increased over the past five years.The upcoming Budget Speech 2025 will announce the possible SASSA grant increases for the 2025/2026 financial year. But let us look at the changes in grant amounts from April 2020 to March 2025. Here are the amounts below.

The biggest rise in grants was in 2023 and 2024. Amounts went up by up to R100 for some beneficiaries, while others saw theirs being raised by between R20 and R50.Some beneficiaries saw an additional R10 added to their grants in October 2023 and 2024. This means SASSA recipients could expect a raise in October with amounts possibly being announced during the Budget Speech 2025., October 2024 saw Older persons, Disability, Care dependency and War veteran’s SASSA grants increase to R2 190.
