Health Minister Jim Reiter taking suggestion into consideration

Saskatchewan Minister of Health Jim Reiter says he will consider a suggestion from a group of Saskatchewan medical students to have the province fund access to the abortion pill.The Student Medical Society of Saskatchewan is urging the provincial government to provide universal coverage for the abortion pill.

She says that’s unaffordable for women who don’t have third-party insurance coverage or don’t meet beneficiary requirements under the Saskatchewan Drug Plan.Witt points out the province covers surgical abortions, which she says are more costly, riskier, and only available in Regina and Saskatoon.
