SARS says it's on top of tax evasion investigation into Shauwn Mkhize

On Thursday, SARS deputy commissioner Johnstone Makhubu joined civic organisations at a picket outside the taxman’s headquarters in Tshwane, held against the safety risks posed to whistleblowers.

JOHANNESBURG - The South African Revenue Service says it's making significant headway in its R37 million tax evasion case against controversial businesswoman Shauwn Mkhize.

The revenue service also revealed that its workers would not be intimidated by criminals and that investigations into potential crimes are continuing. While the Hawks are investigating a case of attempted murder following the botched hit on Naude, SARS and civil organisations believe the perpetrators will be brought to book.
