In recent years the feral cat population at the SAPS Training College, Northmead, has grown exponentially, resulting in the Paw Project taking over the reins last year to ensure that the colony is stabilised.
One of the cats, scheduled for sterilisation, that has already been trapped at the SAPS Training College in Northmead.
“It is important that people realise that within one year, a molly can deliver up to 12 kittens,” said Leandri. Once all the feral cats have been tended to it is expected that no new cats will be able to join the colony as the instinct to procreate has been removed. To ensure that the cats scheduled for the weekend’s sterilisation drive are successful, urgent donations are needed.
