“You must be South African, 30 years younger, matric, no criminal record, you must be healthy, no tattoos. All those things. I am sure that you understand then you’ll become a member of the South African Police,” added Cele. Meanwhile, President Ramaphosa said during the Imbizo that in order for communities to receive proper decent services, corruption in all spheres of government must end.
The Imbizo allowed communities to engage with government leaders on issues relating to service delivery in the province.Water provision, bad roads, unemployment, mismanagement in municipalities topped the list of concerns.Communities across the North West province complain about slow delivery of services and corruption:
