San Antonio police are investigating after a man was found fatally shot on the city’s East Side early Thursday morning.
Officers were called around 1 a.m. to the intersection of East Houston Street and North Polaris Street, not far from North New Braunfels Avenue after receiving word of shots fired.
According to police, an officer arrived to find a man in his late teens or early 20s in the street with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said an officer nearby had heard as many as 50 to 60 shots fired. There is no suspect information, however and the man killed has not been identified.
Investigators say they are now looking for cameras in the area in the hope that they may provide clues in the case. A motive for the shooting is not currently known.The investigation is ongoing, police said.
