Silicon Valley's The Sobrato Organization is leasing the land to the city for $1 a year for emergency interim-housing -- which Mayor Mahan says could house 1,500 people over five years.

San Jose will lease The Sobrato Organization's private land for $1 a year to build a 150-bed tiny home community for the unhoused.Homelessness is one of the biggest issues facing the Bay Area and every city is trying to figure out ways to get more people off the streets.
