San Diego police shoot person in San Carlos neighborhood [Breaking]
At least one San Diego police officer shot a person Wednesday afternoon in the San Carlos neighborhood, police said.
Few details of the shooting were immediately available, but it happened on Bonnie View Drive between Murray Park and Wandermere drives, according to Officer Darius Jamsetjee. The street is near Green Elementary School and Lake Murray Community Park. Officers received a call to the area around 4:10 p.m. regarding a person possibly armed with a firearm, Jamsetjee said, adding that sometime after that, officers were involved in a shooting.
Emergency radio traffic indicated the person who was shot appeared to be holding a weapon. The condition of that person, who was being taken to a hospital by paramedics, was not immediately known.Police shut down roads in the area and warned drivers and pedestrians to avoid the neighborhood.
