Marie Coronel is the proud daughter of Filipino parents. Marie grew up in South San Diego and graduated from Eastlake High School in Chula Vista. Marie received a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and a Minor in Political Science from California State University, Northridge.
Even before local firefighters got on the ground to help crews battling the Highland Fire in Riverside County, preparations were already in the works to make sure there was enough coverage in San Diego County should there be a wildfire.
"Peak staffing is normally what we'll put on during the hot summer dry months," he says."That gives us extra crews, extra engines, and extra bodies to be able to move around the state and help out."
