Region no longer in the danger zone; cases holding steady
Slowly falling coronavirus levels are keeping San Diego County in the “medium” tier of the federal government’s community transmission level map Friday.
There were 310 local COVID-related hospitalizations tallied Wednesday, again slightly lower than the 339 hospitalizations recorded one week earlier. There has been a 23 percent decrease in COVID-related hospitalizations over the past two weeks, causing the region’s drop from high to medium transmission risk in the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s community transmission report.
