The San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum hopes to purchase the 1935 Grant Building and 1939 Kress Building as its new home. The Kress Building housed one of seven lunch counters in downtown San Antonio that peacefully desegregated on March 16, 1960.“The step forward on having a real African American museum is a huge step for this community.
