The San Antonio Police Department released two videos of officer-involved shootings that occurred on consecutive days last month.
SAPD officers were called to the 2000 block of Essex Street just after 2 p.m. for reports of a shooting at a car wash in the area. Witnesses said Palafox was arguing with a 66-year-old man over money when he pulled out a gun and shot the man. Police tracked Palafox to his home in the 1300 block of South Mesquite Street.
As the officer comes around to the front of the vehicle with his gun drawn, he repeats several times: “Don’t do it, don’t.”About a minute into the video, the officer yells “hey, hey” as nearly two dozen shots can be heard. The officer falls to the ground briefly but gets up and starts running for cover toward a building behind him.
