On Wednesday, the San Antonio Philharmonic announced its new, two-year agreement with the American Federation of Musicians Local 23 ahead of its 2024-2025 season .
“This union agreement marks the 80th anniversary of our esteemed orchestra and its remarkable legacy of serving our community,” said Jeffrey Kahane, Music Director of the SA Philharmonic. “I extend my heartfelt congratulations as the music director, and I am excited to be a part of a vibrant and supportive environment for our musicians while empowering the orchestra with renewed confidence.”
“This successor agreement is but one step in the natural progression from a fledgling organization to thriving orchestra,” said AFM 23 President Richard Oppenheim. “The Union looks forward to a continued integral role in the maturation and success of the Philharmonic.”
