Two San Antonio Airmen have been recognized for winning the 2023 World Skeet Championships.

Both Airmen stationed at Joint Base San Antonio participated in the World Skeet Championships this past weekend as part of a five-person team. Joint Base San Antonio posted commending the two, “Their precision and dedication were truly unmatched!” The World Skeet Championships are a prestigious skeet shooting tournament held annually by the National Skeet Shooting Association . The tournament is open to shooters of all ages and skill levels, and features a variety of events for men, women, juniors, and seniors. The competition is typically held in the United States, but has also been held in other countries, such as Canada and Mexico.
12 Gauge Open - This is the main event of the World Skeet Championships, and is open to all shooters, regardless of age or gender.12 Gauge Juniors - This event is open to all shooters under the age of 20.20 Gauge Open - This event is open to all shooters, and is shot with a 20 gauge shotgun.In addition to the individual events, the World Skeet Championships also feature a number of team events, such as the State Team Championship and the International Team Championship.
