Auston Matthews scored a pair of pretty goals in the second period, staking the Leafs to a 2-0 lead after Winnipeg carried the play in the first.
The Jets couldn’t beat Samsonov until they registered their 30th shot on goal. That came at the four-minute mark of the third period, when Kyle Connor scored on a one-timer during a two-man Winnipeg advantage.
