Sam Merrill Selected First Overall At 2022 G League Draft - RealGM Wiretap
Two-year NBA veteran Sam Merrill was the first overall selection at the 2022 NBA Draft. Merrill was selected the Cleveland Charge, who are the Cleveland Cavaliers G League affiliate. Merrill remains an NBA free agent and free to sign with any NBA team, despite playing for the Charge this season.
Joe Wieskamp, who played for the San Antonio Spurs last season was selected second overall by the Wisconsin Herd. The Herd are the affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks. Other notable players selected were rookie Jared Rhoden , three-year NBA veteran Rashad Vaughn and six-year NBA veteran Norris Cole .
