will remain closed because of a sewer line failure; however, Salt Lake City Public Library System said Friday that a leak in the line was detected before it did any damage to the building or the materials inside.that the downtown Salt Lake City library will be closed "until further notice" to undergo repairs to the sewer line.
It was also detected before it damaged any of the books and other materials in the building, and the building itself.McQueen added that there is currently no timetable for when the library will reopen. Any due dates and holds at the Main Library will be extended, or patrons can return any of their books or other materials toThe Main Library opened in 2003, and next month marks the 20th anniversary of its grand opening.
