With an ailing Liverpool side set to take on Manchester City next in the Premier League, it has been claimed Mohamed Salah is"frightened to death" of Erling Haaland's sensational goalscoring form.
The Reds and the Citizens are having contrasting seasons, with the former finding themselves 14 points adrift of EPL table-toppers Arsenal, while the latter are just one point off the summit.
Salah, on the other hand, has looked off the pace, with just two strikes in his eight EPL games so far, and former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson believes the Egyptian will be concerned about being outplayed by Haaland in front of goal this season. "Take the likes of Salah, he's just another one off the pace, and at the moment everything he tries, nothing comes to fruition," Lawrenson told"He's not suddenly become a bad player overnight, he's probably frightened to death about the fact that Haaland's already got so many goals, so he's not going to win the Golden Boot."
