A St Johnstone fan who rescued his young son by lowering him 10 feet out of the smashed window of a burning supporters bus has been awarded a £15,000 settlement by Stagecoach.
The 44-year-old from Perth has been diagnosed with PTSD as a result of his “horrendous” ordeal and was awarded the settlement earlier this month. Speaking exclusively to the PA, Chris recalled: “We were sat in the second back row of the bus which was full of young kids.“When we reached Auchterarder on the way home the driver pulled over – then the back of the bus burst into flames.“There was no hammer to break the window with so people at the back started trying to kick and punch the windows in.
Since November 2021, bus fire incidents in Scotland have taken place at Tullybaccart , Broughty Ferry , Cowdenbeath , Banchory-Crathes , as well as the A90 near Inchture .
