SAHETI School in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, achieved a 100% pass rate in the 2024 IEB matric examinations, earning 286 distinctions. Student Barbis, ranked among the top 1% nationally in several subjects, attributes his success to dedicated teachers and family support. He plans to pursue a maths-related course at either Wits or UCT.
SAHETI School tops IEB rankings: Meet their top achiever , based in Bedfordview in Johannesburg, was the top-performing IEB school in the 2024 matric examinations.
Among other lifetime memories during the difficult year, he said his class had become a close knit family. “Maths has always been an integral part of my life. I have spoken to many experienced relatives, friends, teachers and mentors about various degrees involving Maths, such as Actuarial Science and Applied Mathematics. I am in the process of making the final decision,” he said.
He was ranked within the top 1% nationally in Afrikaans, English, Further Studies: Mathematics Extended, History, Information Technology, Life Orientation, Mathematics, Modern Greek, Physical Sciences.The Independent Examinations Board is a South African independent assessment agency which offers examinations for various client schools, mostly private schools.
All candidates who successfully completed the 2024 IEB NSC examinations obtained a pass that qualifies them for tertiary study at one of three levels, plus those who attained an endorsed certificate:Diocesan College , Curro , Reddam , Kingswood College, St. Andrew’s College, Abbots College, Crawford College, SAHETI School, St. Stithians College, St. John’s College, St. Mary’s Diocesan School for Girls, Hilton College, Kearsney College and Michaelhouse.
