Sadtu slams KZN education department’s call for schools to honour King Misuzulu as ‘indoctrination’
Two weeks ago, King Misuzulu kaZwelithini underwent a sacred ritual – ukungena esibayeni – a traditional Zulu ritual equivalent to a coronation.
At the height of the mutually shared esteem for his majesty, it must not be forgotten that policies guiding the republic’s public education institutions mandate that in celebrating diversity, no cultural ethos must be dominant over others in public schools. Frazer was appointed into the position earlier this month following a reshuffling of the provincial cabinet after the KZN ANC provincial conference where new leadership was appointed. She took over from Kwazi Mshengu.
