It's really tough out there
Shoppers in a popular Nottingham high street have spoken of their sadness as it was confirmed three shops in the area had closed. Sherwood is well known for its independent stores and eateries and residents say they don't want to see any empty units in the 'strong' and 'attractive' shopping area.
The shops that are closing are ones that I had never been to before but it’s always sad to hear of a shop closing down.” Pauline, who is a nurse, continued: “Sherwood has many pubs, restaurants, a boutique, the Coop.In December 2022, it was announced that ‘popular’ cafe Cafe PAS MAMA would also be closing down. The cafe will close on January 15th.
“I like the coffee shops in Sherwood, I like Cafe Chino and the Pudding Pantry, I think when new shops open if people are in a position to do so, they do go out and show support.”
