Ramaphosa urged member states to forge a global consensus on how to implement the Pact solutions.
President Cyril Ramaphosa, who is in New York for the 79th United Nations General Assembly , has welcomed the adoption of the ‘Pact for the Future’ by UN member states at the Summit of the Future.The pact, which includes a Global Digital Compact and a Declaration for Future generations, seeks to reshape multilateral institutions to respond to challenges including Sustainable Development Goals and reshaping global financial institutions.
This pact must bridge the developmental divide. It must provide practical solutions to the challenges of today and tomorrow. That pact for the future is a great opportunity to change, and also to reinvigorate the multilateral system so that it is fit for purpose to address the challenges that the world faces.
