Aryna Sabalenka claims her 18th career title at the Brisbane International, defeating Polina Kudermetova in the final. This victory sets her up for a strong run at the Australian Open.

Belarus' Aryna Sabalenka won her 18th career title at the Brisbane International , defeating Russia's Polina Kudermetova 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the women's singles final. Sabalenka's victory comes after finishing runner-up in Brisbane in 2024. In the men's final, 21-year-old Czech Jiri Lehecka claimed his second ATP title when US opponent Reilly Opelka pulled out with a wrist injury while trailing 1-4. Sabalenka will now head to Melbourne aiming for her third straight Australian Open crown.

Sabalenka said: 'I definitely can take a lot of things from this week heading into the Australian Open. I definitely feel my game is pretty well. Mentally, physically I'll be ready to go at the Australian Open.', 'Australia has become a happy hunting ground for the 26-year-old, who has also won in Adelaide along with her two Australian Open crowns. That's the conditions where I feel really comfortable in.' Kudermetova, playing her eighth match of the tournament, had to win two rounds of qualifying just to make the main draw. She initially looked on course for victory, taking the first set 6-4 after breaking Sabalenka's serve twice. However, Sabalenka regained control in the second set, breaking Kudermetova's serve and winning the set 6-3. Sabalenka continued her dominance in the third set, breaking Kudermetova's serve early on and winning the set and the match 6-2
