Saanich Police are releasing more information about a deceased man found at Swan Lake Nature Sanctuary in October.

Posted: Nov. 7, 2022 11:20AMSaanich Police have released photos of a deceased man's tent and sleeping bag in an effort to identify him. The man, who was believed to be homeless, was found dead in a wooded area of Swan Lake on Oct. 12.

In a subsequent release Monday, police said detectives from Saanich’s major crime unit had been working to identify the man, but were without luck — prompting a call to the public for information. There were also several bicycles in the area surrounding the tent, though no personal items in the immediate area could help investigators identify the man, police said.

“We are sharing a photo of the tent and sleeping bag in an effort to identify the man, as these were only a few of the identifiable items found at the scene.”
