SAA, Emirates R1.5bn contract: Treasury, ex-transport minister supported the deal
Pretoria - The National Treasury and the national Department of Transport were fully supportive of SAA signing a R1.5bn deal with Emirates Airlines.
The parties are accusing Myeni of plunging the national carrier into financial chaos during her six year tenure as board chairperson. “We made arrangements for such a meeting. We managed to secure a meeting for the two at the Arabian Travel Show on May 2 in Dubai. On the eve of the trip, Nico Bezuidenhout told me that Ms Myeni was not travelling with us. Bezuidenhout said we should tell the Emirates bosses that she was sick,” Bosc said.
