The Electoral Commission of South Africa has received backlash for its lack of visibility and promotion relating to its youth-centred seminars set on making voting look cool to encourage the 14 million unregistered young people to participate.

The crowd, consisting mainly of young adults and students, urged the Gauteng IEC to apply different methods such as radio, newspapers, and various other modes of communication beyond social media to announce its initiatives.
