A new report shows South Africa's greenhouse gas emissions - which cause climate change - have peaked, but more work lies ahead to meet the 2030 target range, said the Presidential Climate Commission. The inventory covers the period 2000 to 2022, and estimates the current emissions levels and trends in the country. The inventory is compiled as part of the country's climate commitments. As a member of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, South Africa and others - are required to track emissions - as part of efforts to stabilise global emissions.South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
