He was on his way home following a board meeting when he was accosted.
The association is raising concerns about the high levels of crime in the country as health workers are also under attack.The latest crime statistics show an increase in hijackings compared to 2021. “I was very heartened to find him on his recovery bed and commended him for his heroic action of driving himself while bleeding and in pain to the nearest hospital to save his life because had he waited longer, his condition could have deteriorated. We would also like to thank the emergency medical services, nursing staff and police for the swift response,” Dr Dhlomo said.
