Jetour has officially landed in South Africa and as one of China’s fastest-growing SUV brands, it hopes to find the same success locally with the Dashing and X70 Plus models. At the end of last week, the foundling Jetour brand unveiled the Dashing and X70 Plus models as part of a Sandton City fashion and travel-themed event.
Li Xueyong, president of Jetour Auto, emphasised the brand’s strategic focus on South Africa. “This market is mature and highly competitive. We’ve conducted extensive research and are bringing products that meet local demands. The launch of the Dashing and X70 Plus today is just the beginning,” he said, outlining Jetour’s ambitious sales targets of 2 000 units by year-end and 30 000 cumulative sales over the next three years.
The Jetour X70 Plus serves as a seven-seater SUV designed for families and adventurers, featuring cutting-edge technology, spacious interiors, and robust safety systems. The striking exterior, with a commanding grille and elongated LED headlights, is matched by advanced features like keyless entry and rugged tyres suitable for diverse terrains. Inside, the cabin exudes modern elegance, enhanced by ambient lighting and premium synthetic leather seats.
Nic Campbell, vice president of Jetour South Africa, highlighted the significance of this launch as a milestone for the brand. “This event marks our commitment to innovation and progress in transportation and mobility,” he said. Jetour’s entry into the local market is supported by a comprehensive after-sales strategy, including a R100m investment in parts at their Midrand headquarters and a network of over 40 dealerships nationwide.
