A South African sneaker store is the first on the continent to officially collaborate with Nike's Jordan Brand, designing a shoe which pays homage to local team members.
Nike launched Air Jordan shoes 37 years ago, targeting $3 million in sales over four years.To highlight its popularity in traditionally overlooked areas, Nike launched a global campaign to collaborate with stores.
A shoe first produced for legendary basketball player Michael Jordan in the mid-1980s has grown into its own fully-fledged brand within Nike. . Resales among sneaker collectors on the secondary market can fetch up to 500% more than the original retail price.As part of a global campaign highlighting parts of the world that are passionate about Jordan sneakers but are often underrepresented, Nike handpicked three stores to collaborate with. The international sportswear giant selected stores in the Philippines, Detroit, and South Africa.
