S'pore records first death linked to Covid-19 vaccination after coroner ruled man died from heart inflammation: MOH
In a statement, the ministry said that the man had died 21 days after receiving his first dose of the Moderna/Spikevax Covid-19 vaccine on June 18, 2021. He passed away on July 9 that year after collapsing at his workplace earlier that day.
The ministry said that under its Vaccine Injury Financial Assistance Programme, a one-time financial assistance of S$225,000 will be extended to the man’s family. According to the latest vaccine safety update by the Health Sciences Authority , the incidence of myocarditis remains rare with reporting rates of 0.1 per 100,000 doses for the bivalent vaccines.
