Some passengers falling foul of the rule are being turned away at boarding
British holidaymakers travelling with Ryanair are being urged against overpacking as it could see them turned away at the airport gate. The budget airline has strict rules in place when it comes to carry on luggage and those who don't 'adhere strictly' to the policies risk facing last minute charges of up to £75 minutes before flying.
Those wanting to bring a little bit extra on board can add a 'large' cabin bag that measures up to 55x40x20cm bag weighing up to 10kg, in addition to the small personal carry on, as Birmingham Live reports. The Ryanair Priority-approved Brixham Cabin Bag from luxury suitcase brand Antler fits the bill and is currently on sale with a £51 discount online. Holidaymakers can also pay more to add a checked-in suitcase.

Those who refuse to pay will not be allowed to board the flight. Ryanair's policy states: "If your small bag or 10kg cabin bag does not fit in the baggage sizers, which are placed at every boarding gate, we will tag your bag and place it in the aircraft hold subject to payment of a gate bag fee. You can collect it on the baggage carousel at your arrival airport.
