The former Coronation Street star bought his first home at the age of just 18
It's an experience no one ever forgets - buying their first home. And former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas fondly recalls buying his first ever property at the tender age of just 18.
Although the only problem with his own early independence is that he's now seeing the same spirit in his daughter Scarlett, who he shares with former partner Tina O'Brien. He says: "The Santander study found that 22 per cent of people have moved to a new place because of a new partner, so I was in that bracket. I got with a Southerner and there was a choice between north and south and we went south.
He says: "I enjoyed Essex, I actually feel like that's home more than Manchester, I had both my youngest children down there and set myself up with a new friendship group, so now I miss it. It was really lovely for me as I got to meet Lucy's friends and family, and before you know it, it's just home.
Dancing on Ice champion Ryan was set a challenge by Santander to explore an entirely new area for its new First Time Buyer Campaign, and was amazed at how much he got to find out about an area of London he didn't know in just two hours.
