Gunmen have opened fire on crowds at a large concert hall in Moscow, killing an unspecified number of people - with explosions reported and a huge blaze at the venue.

Russian state media are reporting several gunmen dressed in camouflage burst into the Crocus City Hall on the western edge of Moscow on Friday night and sprayed visitors with automatic gunfire, reportedly killing 40 people and injuring more than 100, and starting a huge blaze. Russia's top domestic security agency, the Federal Security Service, say people have been killed and wounded but have yet to give any numbers.
Visitors were being evacuated, according to Russian news agencies, but some said an unspecified number of people could have been trapped by the fire Russian media reports say riot police units are being sent to the area, with security was tightened at Moscow's airports and railway stations and the region's mayor announcing all mass gatherings scheduled for the weekend are cancelled.
