Russia reveals ‘certain contacts’ with US over Evan Gershkovich swap

Spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the revelation when asked if Washington and Moscow have discussed the possibility of swapping Gershkovich, who wason espionage charges, for Russian national Vladimir Dunaev, who is being held in the US for alleged cybercrimes.

Gershkovich, the US government and the Wall Street Journal have vehemently denied the Kremlin’s accusations and Moscow has declined to make public any evidence to back up its spying claims. “US Embassy officials will continue to provide all appropriate support to Mr. Gershkovich and his family, and we expect Russian authorities to provide continued consular access,” a State Department spokesperson told The Post.
