Rupert Murdoch is being urged to rebrand his struggling TalkTV channel as The Sun TV in a bid to tap into the tabloid’s wider audience 🔴 adamsherwin10 reports
“It’s a huge advantage to TalkTV that we’re in the same building asand we can access their talent. That’s the way we have to move forward because it helps bring in exclusive interviews when they can be shared across the portfolio.”
The channel’s reliance on Morgan is also a danger, some fear. One insider said: “TalkTV was built for Piers and he is by far the most popular thing on it. What if he decides he’s had enough of low ratings and takes his huge YouTube audience elsewhere?” Significantly the St James’s Place party was hosted by the elder Murdoch alongside eldest son Lachlan, appointed News Corp co-chairman and now seen as the undisputed heir to the global media dynasty.
Murdoch senior was pictured arriving alone to the London party, after having called off his engagement to Ann Lesley Smith in April, just two weeks after announcing it in the US media.
