The City Council is preparing to vote on Madison Square Garden’s special permit to operate above Pennsylvania Station.Dolan’s family, which owns the Garden, wants the license extended indefinitely – the same is true for the local bars and restaurants that benefit from the arena’s 19,500-capacity seating.
